Ideas for Senior Photography Session in Columbus, Ohio

Now that 2026 school year is almost over, I’ve been receiving email about “after May 29th I will have a senior!” emails:) While I am SO excited to work with new senior for their senior photo sessions in Columbus, Ohio next year first I want to congratulate all 2026 senior that I had the honor to work with! This blog post took so long to prepare because look how gorgeous all the Seniors I got to photograph. Wish you all the luck you guys <3

Ok back to 2027 seniors:) While I wanted to update my senior photography portfolio here on my website with this blog post, I also wanted to give upcoming seniors Ideas for Senior Photography Session in Columbus, Ohio.

For senior photos, most families and senior start with location questions. Well, lucky you, I had share a few ideas on MY BLOG POST HERE.  And on this post I will focus on how to make your senior session more fun, more like you!

1- Tell me about your hobby, sport, interests!

To me, including your high school hobbies, interests  or the sport play is the most important part of your session. This is a great way to celebrate what you loved and remember for years to come! We can do this on location as seen in Mia and Caleb’s sessions below:

Or you can bring it with you to your photo session like Teddy and Noah did below:

ps: Families and pets are always welcome! I have options to add a family session before/after of a senior session. And I don’t think I need to mention: pets are ALWAYS welcome too! 🙂

Don’t have physical item to bring? (Track is good example for this) You can always bring an outfit to symbolize what you do. See Corbin’s photos in Westerville Uptown below:

Additional to his Track jacket, Torin also included his love of book and theatre by starting his session at The Book loft and changing into an amazing sweater!!! Open to include a unique location you like spending time: skate park, a coffee shop, a book store… open to ideas!

2- Bring your gear of your next school!

Bring an item from your next adventure and let’s celebrate:) That’s what Delaney did and i loved it!

3-Bring your style

You can simply bring any outfit you feel comfortable in but making it your style is never a bad idea. I loved how Nathan brought in suits additional to her casual clothes.

4- Bring something meaningful to you.

Aidan brought something very meaningful to his session, to remember forever. How thoughtful!

5- One big Idea for Senior Photography Session : Bring your smile and energy!

And yes very lastly, don’t forget to bring your smile and have fun during this special photo session:)

And you don’t want to include anything to you session , we will talk about the seasonal locations.

For senior sessions in spring, Inniswood metro gardens is one of my favorite locations in Columbus!

It is lovely in Fall senior photos in Columbus too!

Highbanks Metro Park is another favorite Fall photo session location!

And if you waited for winter for your session  (no judgement! 🙂 and it’s cold outside, we can always use the gorgeous library in downtown Columbus.

Lastly, German Village, short north, uptown Westerville and lately Downtown Delaware is also some great urban locations regardless of the session!
