I’ve shot 2 weddings at The Ellis in Columbus last summer and guess what, blogged none! When you look at my blog history, you will not find The Ellis but you will see this beautiful wedding I shot there before they changed name. That is one of the best things about being a 10+ experience wedding photographer in Columbus: places changes names, owners… and we witness:)
Anywho, back to Andrea and Zach’s wedding at The Ellis! Andrea, who was a former bridesmaid at one of my favorite couple Anna&Aaron’s wedding, reached out to me shortly after they were engaged. They knew their venue but getting ready details were still up in the air. When she told me that they will be getting ready at Hotel LeVeque, I squeaked! Been there many times but never had shot a wedding at Hotel LeVeque. On the wedding when I saw the details, I even more excited. Andrea chose a very simple dress with a slit… their colors were black&white, very elegant! They chose Ohio Statehouse’s grounds for their bridal party photos. They brought their pup over… pure perfection!
The Ellis did an amazing job at hosting their guests. They served drinks as the guests entered for the ceremony. The ceremony was short and simple but the celebration was big afterwards. We walked around their wedding venue in Italian village while guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the yard. The desert after dinner was Buckeye lady… I mean, talk about a Columbus Wedding!
Of all these I have to say one of my favorite part of the day was the table hop that the couple did. They had 3 minutes, a song long while they visited every table and snagged a photo with that table. I absolutely LOVE this idea! Later I designed Andrea&Zack’s wedding album and this collage below made a big spread; how fun!
They danced away all night and even did t-shirt toss of their pup:)))
Andrea&Zach … thank you again for choosing me for your special day at The Ellis <3
